Time Trial - Saturday July 15
Registration: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Race Start Time: 9:30 a.m.

Race Start Location: St. Mary's Church, Indian River

Race Distance: 12.1 km

Course Map: Indian River Course

Elevation Profile: Indian River TT Profile

Prize Money: Time Trial Purse

The Time Trial often determines the overall winner of the Series as, by nature, it is one person battling the elements of wind and terrain all alone. Each Rider starts at one minute intervals, following the same course. They are not allowed to "draft", to get behind someone else to block the wind. They must complete the course on their own strength. Spectators will catch glimpses of cyclists in body suits such as those worn at the Track Olympics because in a time trial every second that can be earned makes the difference in the overall standings. The terrain is typically level allowing for a sustained power output from the riders.

The time trial has come to be known as the “mind over matter” event of this series. As a spectator, you’ll see rider’s preparation time and focus the key. It is typically the rider who can sustain the physical pain longer than the others who captures the time trial top placing.

Some of the best locations to catch glimpses and cheer on these riders is on the quiet and picturesque Hamilton Road. Come out and cheer on these riders! Parking will be available on the Clermont Road for cyclists and fans.

Criterium - Saturday July 15
Registration: 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Race Start Time: 3:30 p.m.

Race Start Location: Slemon Park Airport

Course Map: Laps at Slemon Park Airport

Prize Money: Criterium Purse

Crowds will center to the core of historical Slemon Park at the airport and catch flashing glimpses of the cyclists. A criterium occurs on a small course where cyclists complete a number of laps. This event will certainly be the marquee marketing event as it will feature nearly horizontal cornering, off-the-saddle sprinting, tire-to-tire maneuvering, and some rare up-close breakaways. Each race will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour.

Spectators will watch hard-fought sprints up close and personal. What that translates for the spectator is an amazing lap of mind and maneuverability combined with speed and strength as it is not uncommon for racers to sprint to the line with speeds of close to 60 km/h on a flat terrain. Unfortunately, it is also not uncommon for serious crashes to occur.
